About The Northern California Pug Club
A group of people interested in Pugs gathered together at the Petaluma fairgrounds in the spring of 1988 to form the Northern California Pug Club (NCPC). Their objective was to make available the opportunity for people in Northern California to learn more about the Pug breed and to keep them informed of current happenings in the dog world.
Since that humble beginning, our club has grown into one of the most active Pug Clubs in the country. The NCPC is one of 20 regional chapter clubs around the country whose parent club is the Pug Dog Club of America -the American Kennel Club's parent club for the Pug breed. We are licensed by the AKC to conduct several competitive and fun events including Pug matches, conformation shows, agility, obedience, and rally trials. Over the years, many of our members have gained national recognition competing in the events about, and our Pug breeders have produced some of the finest Pugs in the country.
The NCPC supports several local Pug rescue organizations and as well as research on canine and Pug health issues., Every Spring we hold our major annual fundraiser in this area, which we fondly call our “Pugtacular”, is not just for show dogs. It is a good opportunity for anyone who owns and loves Pugs to get together for a good time and a good cause an all-breed Agility trial at Sycamore Farms Kennels in Lodi, CA, hosted by NCPC founding members Riney and Alicia Kahler
You’ll find the members of the Northern California Pug Club are always willing to help you, with or without a Pug. Whether it is to learn about our breed or help our four-legged friends we are committed to educating the public about these special dogs.
