About the owner: Thomas and Denise were born, raised, met and married in Watsonville.  Thomas works for his family business as the bookkeeper of a construction company.  Denise works for Pacific Gold Farms as a payroll specialist and accountant.  After a rough day at work, there is nothing better than coming home to two pugs' faces staring at you through the back door glass with tails wagging and smiles from ear-to-ear.

Tom is able to run home during the day and check on the girls if anyone is not feeling up to par or someone needs a midday meal or medicine.  His retirement is going to consist of being a house daddy taking care of pugs and cleaning up after them.

Denise has been active in dog shows since 1977 when she started showing her brother's Labrador Retriever in obedience.  She finished his UD (Utility Degree) and got a Shetland Sheepdog to start training.  After finishing his UD, Tom and I met and he started talking about getting a Bulldog.  In 1994 we got married and we decided on a Pug instead.  I insisted on finding a breeder that could support my questions because I knew about the health issues with Pugs.  That is when we were introduced to CoryRex Kennels.  Courtney was always there before and after we got Monique.  When Monique turned 4, we started looking for a breed dog to show in conformation.  After seeing Gage and the Storybook girls in a match, I wanted to own a Gage puppy.  The following March 2001, Jade was born.  I was so excited when Keven called the next day to let us know we were on the list for a girl.  After 5 weeks we went up to meet our new family member.  The second I saw this little girl sitting by herself looking up at me, it was love.  We played and she crawled up my sleeve and fell asleep.  She has been there ever since!  The support we receive from both the girls' breeders makes owning a Pug a blessing.

Having two Alpha bitches in the same household can be adventurous to say the least.  But when they are hanging out together you can't take one without the other.  You can find them curled up in the same bed or listening to tunes in front of the speakers.

Jade was very proud of her legs (green ribbons) and her Pug cookie jar that she won at different shows.  The day she finished her Rally Novice degree, she also qualified in Novice B earning High Scoring Pug (Merrell Award) and High Scoring Toy.

Jade had a very successful year in 2005; this picture was her final leg in Rally Advanced taken in Galt, CA, in a wind storm.

Jade started her career in breed at 6 months old.  Her favorite spot was the table because of the chicken that was always lavished on her.
